Brown Bear Tackle Box Fly Patterns

Please read the patterns carefully before attempting to tie them.

This will help avoid frustration. I have tried to put the pattern down in order of construction and some of these can become complicated and time consuming.

  Hook - Up eye salmon 2/0-14
  Thread - Black
Tail Golden pheasant tippet
Body Rear 1/3 is peacock herl; Middle 1/3 is red floss; front 1/3 is peacock herl. (reverse wrap the peacock herl with fine gold wire to make it more durable. when the bite is on, the trout can trash the peacock herl in very short order.)
Collar Coachman brown saddle
Wing White bucktail or polar bear
