Brown Bear Tackle Box Fly Patterns

Please read the patterns carefully before attempting to tie them.

This will help avoid frustration. I have tried to put the pattern down in order of construction and some of these can become complicated and time consuming.

Nymph
General

  Name - Carey Special - V1

  Hook - Std wet 8-20
  Thread - Black
Ribbing Black floss
Body Peacock herl
Hackle Three brown pheasant rump feathers tied so they form a collar extending past the end of the hook
Note

The body can be tied with black chenille as well.

I have used both versions of this fly in B.C. and a few other places I've had chance to fish. It has been an excellent "go to" fly over the years.
