Brown Bear Tackle Box Fly Patterns

Please read the patterns carefully before attempting to tie them.

This will help avoid frustration. I have tried to put the pattern down in order of construction and some of these can become complicated and time consuming.

Wet
Steelhead

  Name - Alexandra - V1
image here
  Hook - Std wet 8-16
  Thread - Black
Tail Small section of red goose quill and 2 or 3 peacock sword fibers
Ribbing Oval Silver tinsel
Body Flat Silver tinsel
Hackle Black cock or hen. I like to tie it back and down. There are many thoughts on that so one gets to take their pick.
Wing Green peacock sword flanked by slips of red goose quill.
Notes There are many variations of this dressing. Some show very heavy hackles to very sparse . Some show only a slip of red quill over the wing to large slips that almost cover the Sword. The key thing is to determine what works in your area and go with it.
