Brown Bear Tackle Box Fly Patterns

Please read the patterns carefully before attempting to tie them.

This will help avoid frustration. I have tried to put the pattern down in order of construction and some of these can become complicated and time consuming.

Nymph
General

  Name - Bitch Creek
image here
  Hook - Std wet 4X long 6-12
  Thread - Black
Tail 2 strands white rubber band extending through the body past the head for feelers
Body Underside is orange chenille. Main body and thorax are black chenille
Hackle 3-4 turns of brown palmered through the thorax
Notes Tie in a short length of Orange chenille on the underside of the hook. Tie in and wrap the body with Black chenille and leave a long tag at the front. Pull the Orange chenille up and hold it in place with the tying thread for about 2/3 of the length. Clip off any excess. Tie in a Brown hackle by the tip and wrap the Black chenille back to that point to build the thorax. (You may have to wrap the chenille back to the head to get the desired thickness.) Palmer the hackle forward over the thorax and tie off.
